Peace of Mind Transitions

Your second meeting with POM

Your Family Picture

See what is in place, what is missing and what needs a closer look—so you can decide how to move forward.

Bring the pieces into view

After A Calm Beginning, a focused meeting of approximately 30 minutes helps us build an initial picture of your family’s preparation. We discuss the areas that matter most to you, identify gaps and uncertainties, and explain the POM work that could help.

You do not need to arrive with every answer. Knowing what is unclear is part of understanding what needs attention.

What we explore

The people, plans and decisions around your family

01

Your people and priorities

What does living well mean to you? Who depends on you? Who would help if circumstances changed? We discuss your priorities, family involvement and the people you want included—with your permission.

02

Your documents and responsibilities

Do you have wills and powers of attorney? Do your chosen representatives know their roles and where to find important information? We identify what is available, missing or uncertain.

03

Your financial future

Do you have a current picture of retirement income, spending, annual taxes and future care costs? We identify the questions a long-term cashflow and estate-value projection would need to answer.

04

Tax, estate and insurance questions

We note concerns about ownership, beneficiaries, taxes, estate expenses and available funds. Matters needing legal, tax, insurance or other professional review become part of the proposed scope.

05

Your home and lifestyle

Would you prefer to stay home, adapt the property or consider a move? We discuss accessibility, upkeep, caregiving responsibilities, future care costs, timing and the choices to explore through Home & Lifestyle Planning.

06

Your family’s readiness

Could your family locate key contacts, documents and wishes? We identify coordination gaps, immediate priorities and any timing concerns that should shape the next step.

What would your family need to figure out?

If retirement, a care need, a move or a loss changed your plans, would someone know where to begin? This conversation helps make unanswered questions visible while there is time to prepare.

A document may be in place while its location, the person responsible or the next step remains unclear. We record those uncertainties for follow-up; a detailed assessment comes after engagement.

Before the meeting

A little preparation is enough

The initial conversation is with the couple. A chosen executor or family representative may join with your permission; their own planning is a separate engagement.

  • Think about your two or three main concerns.
  • Note whether wills and powers of attorney exist and when they were last reviewed.
  • Have the names of your key professionals and intended family representatives available.
  • Consider any health, housing or family changes and upcoming deadlines.

Bring what you know. We will agree on how to collect any detailed records needed for the paid work.

At the end of the conversation

A clearer starting point

We bring together your main concerns, the gaps or uncertainties identified, the proposed planning areas and any professionals who should be involved.

You leave understanding the recommended next step, what POM would do and what would be separately scoped.

Step 3 · In the same meeting

A Clear Commitment

Before personalized work begins, we explain the proposed services, deliverables, responsibilities, meetings, support limits and fees. The proposal also identifies exclusions, outside professional costs and any separately priced implementation work.

If you choose to proceed, we confirm the scope and sign the POM engagement. Detailed document review, projections, tax calculations and individual recommendations follow within the paid Your Family Plan engagement.

Start with A Calm Beginning

If you have not yet met with us, begin with a complimentary introduction. We can then arrange Your Family Picture as the next step.

Your Family Picture is an initial readiness conversation. It does not establish that documents are legally valid or provide a completed financial, tax or estate assessment. Professional advice is provided by appropriately qualified professionals.
